Please Support Us!
The Israeli government does not support Masorti (Conservative Movement) or Reform synagogues, although it provides significant funding to Orthodox ones. As a result, in addition to not receiving such funds, most native Israelis find it strange to pay dues to a synagogue.
Until government funding for non-Orthodox synagogues comes through, Kehillat Veahavta relies heavily on donations, in addition to member dues and program fees. Your donation will support the target of your support, for example:
$50 An hour of counseling by the rabbi for a needy non-member
$120 Membership dues subsidy for a low-income senior citizen
$120 Subsidy to a low-income person for a 10-session class in the Bet Midrash
For additional giving opportunities that better meet your interests, please contact Dannii Bernstein at Veahavta who will be glad to call or write to you about your preferences and interests.
